Profile

I have been exploring yoga and meditation since I was a child, when my mother started to teach Hatha yoga. My brother and I were brought up using visualisation to help us sleep and deep breathing to help with headaches and injuries. As a young adult, after being diagnosed as epileptic, I was given a daily yoga practice by Swami Niranjanananda. Having experienced the benefits of yoga first hand I went to India and South East Asia to study, and subsequently teach yoga.

I first studied Satyananda yoga with my mum and then with the Sivananda organisation in 2002. I moved to France, initially to live and work at an ashram in order to experience yoga as a complete lifestyle. I went on to live and teach in Paris for three years including four months spent living at the Centre International Sivananda de Yoga Vedanta. I have been teaching children's yoga since 2003 having trained with Calm for Kids. More recently I have enjoying studying with Donna Farhi and am inspired by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers.

I am also a student of Zen Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hahn and have spent many happy days at his retreat centre Plum Village in the south of France. His teachings on mindfulness in daily life greatly influence the classes I teach. I was recently invited to teach the meditation element of the Yoga Garden teacher training course.
